Megan Slay’s love for piano performance is matched only by her enthusiasm for her students and a dedication to collaboration and coaching that brings out the best in fellow musicians. Her performance of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Moment Musicaux Op. 16, No. 4 was awarded a Gold Medal in the Professional category of the 2023 Grand Maestro International Music Competition Final Round, announced on Nov. 8, 2023.
On July 10, 2023, Megan Slay was awarded a Platinum Prize at the Franz Schubert international Music Competition for her performance of Schubert's
Sonata D 845 I Moderato.
In June 2023, she placed as a prize winner (Honorable Mention) in the Sixth International Online Piano Competition, along with prize winners from nine countries.
In April 2023, Megan Slay was a soloist in the Gellman Room Concert Series in Richmond, Virginia, performing works by Franz Schumann and Sergei Rachmaninoff, in a program titled "Romancing the Piano."

In June 2022, she performed in the Metropolitan Philharmonic Association’s Summer Chamber Music Series.
Ms. Slay graduated with a Master of Music in Piano Performance from George Mason in 2021, receiving the Graduate Academic Achievement Award. In 2020, she was the Virginia winner of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Young Artist Competition.
Megan performed in masterclasses for Gary Graffman, Ching-Yun Hu, Jerome Lowenthal, Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden, Alexander Moutouzkine, and Ursula Oppens.
Megan also received a scholarship to attend Brevard Summer Music Institute (Summer 2018) where she had the opportunity to premiere new works by living composers.
Megan Slay graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2019 where she studied with Ruta Smedina- Starke. She was a Sigma Alpha Iota Young Artist and awarded the Richmond Music Teachers Association Collegiate Scholarship. She served as secretary of the VCU collegiate chapter of the Music Teachers National Association.
